Day 348 Handling Rude Customers

I couldn’t help but feel annoyed while talking to a rude customer yesterday. She asked me if I could speak her native language. When I said no, she started speaking English slowly. I didn’t mind that at all—I understood she was doing her best as an English learner. However, she suddenly became irritated, and after I asked her to clarify her request several times because she had only said a few unclear words, she finally said, “I feel tired. Other staff, please.” I honestly didn’t understand what she wanted. I admit my support wasn’t perfect, and I could have tried harder to understand her intention, but I couldn’t tolerate her attitude.

Day 346 My Next Step in Japan

I was discussing with my wife the process of finding my next job in Japan. I tended to browse recruitment-related company site, like Rikunavi and Mynavi. However, she suggested searching one by one based on what I want to try, rather than using a huge search engine.

Day 345 The Importance of Rugby Test Matches This Year

The draws for determining each pool for the Rugby World Cup 2027 in Australia will take place in December this year. Teams will be allocated to bands A through D based on their latest world rankings. Each pool will consist of four teams, with one team from each band. Consequently, all test matches this year are crucial for securing the best possible band placement.

Day 344 Rugby International Match: Japan vs Wales

I watched an international match between Japan and Wales yesterday. The quality of both teams' play was not good. However, I was relieved that Japan's winless run against Tier 1 countries was over.   Reference:  WalesOnline

Day 343 Collecting Customers' Feedback and Comments

When customers walk into our shop, I usually ask them to post their comments and feedback about our service. Their review not only allows me to reflect on my attitude, but it  can also be one factor in expanding our products to as many people as possible. Our shop is located a bit far from the center of Auckland City. For this reason, I believe that  accumulating customers' reviews is crucial for accelerating our profit .

Day 342 The Terrible Weather in Auckland

It rained all day and the wind blew strongly. I felt down in the morning because of the bad weather, but later I had a casual conversation with the owner and was able to reconcile the actual stock and inventory. So, today wasn’t entirely a bad day. From now on, I’ll maintain the quality of my work regardless of the weather.

Day 341 Making a Mistake due to Mental Fatigue

I received many inquiries and requests from customers via email and over the phone two days ago and yesterday. I felt more exhausted than usual and ended up making a mistake due to mental fatigue. When I worked in Japan, I experienced similar situations. However, I lost my cool over the past two days, which I hadn't done in a long time.

Day 340 The Way I Communicate with Rude Customers

I sometimes come across rude customers who are bossy or try to negotiate the price too much. When dealing with them, I try to explain the current market trends and the reasons why we cannot lower the price, using a moderate tone. Of course, speaking firmly is one option for handling such situations. However, I feel it is better to resolve each inquiry in as calm an atmosphere as possible, as this might eventually lead to a purchase.
