Day 66 My second job interview

Today, I had an interview for customer service staff position at a retail shop. The area manager was very kind, and the atmosphere in the workplace was warm, which made me even more eager to work there. However, I struggled to answer three questions from the manager:

  1. What is the most important thing to maintain teamwork?
My answer: Listening carefully to colleagues' ideas because we need to collaborate with people from various backgrounds.

  2. How do you handle difficulties on your own?
My answer: Consulting with supervisors or colleagues who have more experience and diverse perspectives, as it can be risky to make decisions alone without enough experience.

  3. Would you like to work here permanently?
My answer: "Of course!" If I obtain permanent residency in New Zealand, I would definitely like to work here long-term.

The second question was particularly challenging because the manager wanted to hear my personal approach to handling difficulties, not just a general response. The aim was to see how I would address issues that could arise in this specific workplace. I struggled to express my thoughts clearly, as I hadn't given much consideration to that aspect recently. When I was looking for a job in Japan, I always prepared answers for such questions, but lately, my perspective seems to have narrowed.

Thank you for reading.
