Day 48 The first interview in New Zealand

Today, I had an interview for a job I applied for earlier. The position is for a customer service role at a pharmacy. This was my first interview in New Zealand. The questions from the employer were as follows:

  1. What are your skills and experience?
  2. When are you available?
  3. Why do you want to work here?
  4. What are your thoughts on long-term career plans?

I struggled to answer the fourth question smoothly because lately, I’ve been focused on securing the money I need for the next 3 or 4 months. Even though I’ve always been mindful of my future plans in Japan, I may have lost sight of them recently due to the daily challenges of living here. Today's interview reminded me of my original goals and mindset, so it was a meaningful experience for me.

Thank you for reading.
