Day 25 What I have felt lately
I finished all my classes today, as always.
As of today, I have only 3 days left to spend with my host family.
When I first moved here, I was very nervous, wondering if I would really get along with my host family.
But now, I've gotten used to the lifestyle and communication with them.
Also, there's a lot to learn through the homestay experience.
The day before yesterday, I talked to my host mother about what I’ve felt through this homestay.
In particular, I noticed a significant difference between New Zealand and Japan regarding commitment to saving water and electricity.
As I mentioned earlier in this blog, the time I can take a shower and the frequency of washing my clothes are quite limited to conserve water and electricity.
Although saving these resources is important in Japan, the level of conservation here in New Zealand is more strict than what I’ve experienced before.
This experience made me reflect on my daily life and ask myself, "Have we really been conserving resources?"
Maybe we live in places that are too convenient.
As a result, our appreciation for using water, electricity, and public transportation freely has decreased.
Although it's been only about a month, I've already learned a lot.
Thank you.
